Competitions

At Northampton Tennis CIC, we believe that competition is a key part of a child’s tennis journey. Our events are about so much more than winning matches — they’re about building confidence, learning resilience, and developing a lifelong love of the game.

Through competition, children learn how to set goals, manage emotions, and celebrate both success and progress. They experience the excitement of performing under pressure in a safe, supportive environment — where effort, respect, and sportsmanship are valued just as much as results.

We understand that not every match goes to plan, and sometimes there are tears after a tough loss. That’s okay — these moments are opportunities for growth. Our coaches and parents work together to help children reflect positively:

“Did you try your best?”
“What did you learn today?”

By focusing on effort, attitude, and improvement, we help players develop the emotional tools they’ll use not only in sport but in everyday life.

Our competition programme — from fun team events to our Grand Slam Series — gives every child the chance to test their skills, challenge themselves, and most importantly, enjoy the game.
